The Metropolitan Crime Commission (MCC) (http://metrocrime.org/) is a local non-profit citizen’s group dedicated to exposing public corruption, improving the administration of justice, and reducing the incidence of crime in order to improve the quality of life for citizens throughout LA.

The MCC is currently looking to hire a Case Agent to work as part of our Anti-Public Corruption program.

JOB TITLE: Case Agent

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISORS:            Vice President Anthony Radosti
                                                           Senior Investigator Michelle Foster

WORK SCHEDULE: Flexible

JOB DESCRIPTION:

I. ANTI-PUBLIC CORRUPTION PROGRAM (APC)

            A. Train and apply MCC policy, procedures, and protocols to investigations

            B. Maintain APC case log on meaningful complaints

            C. Screen and assess complaints

            D. Devise action plan for all new investigations with supervisor

            E. Prepare and consult with supervisor on all outgoing correspondence relating to investigations

            F. Conduct investigations including interviewing complainants and/or fact witnesses and compile documentation, public records, and research related to cases

            G. Write investigative narrative reports detailing witness statements and supporting documentation

            H. Maintain file room and APC program statistics

            I. Adhere to regular work review schedule as established by immediate Supervisor

 

II. MISCELLANEOUS

            A. Attend and assist with all MCC special events and functions

            B. Other duties as assigned


III. QUALIFICATIONS

            A. A bachelor’s degree or currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social science, or related fields

            B. Strong writing ability, people skills, extensive computer skills especially using word processing applications, spreadsheet software, internet search engines, and public record databases
